Ethical considerations of disaster research in conflict-affected areas

Purpose Debates on the ethics of disaster and humanitarian studies concern unequal relations in research (among institutes/researchers/stakeholders); physical psychological well-being participants researchers; imposition western methods, frameworks epistemologies to study disasters. This paper focuses everyday ethics: how they need be translated throughout practices researchers can deal with ethical dilemmas that inevitably occur. Design/methodology/approach analyses process addressing ethics-related from first author's experiences researching governance high-intensity conflict settings, particular drawing 4 6 months fieldwork South Sudan Afghanistan.
